ABOUT THE DENIM PROCESS
Denim requires a lot of sampling and back and fourth communication between the designer and the manufacturer. I’m not talking about the amount of resources it requires to make it to the final approved garment. Getting the right wash based on the examples that the designer submits can take time and it doesn’t always turn out as expected. Using Digital sampling, the process also minimises physical samples.
IMPROVEMENTS OF SAMPLING PROCESS USING TECHNOLOGY:
1. The process of communicating will become easier.
2. The visual ideas can be more clearly articulated.
3. Less envionmental footprint - no extra sample waste.
4. Quicker turnaround for iterations, changing colors is a good example of this.
5. More room for creative experimentation.
6. Easier to guage interest of the product through pre-ordering.
