NEO-FUSION
ABOUT THE COLLECTION:
I’d like to introduce my first collection, Neo-Fusion, which embodies both innovation and sustainability within the digital landscape. The name itself reflects the harmonious blend of diverse and distinct elements, resulting in a fresh and purposeful outcome.
At the heart of this collection is a profound commitment to the art of reworking and upcycling existing garments. Each piece undergoes a transformative process, breathing new life into it and carrying forward a compelling narrative born from the experiences of its previous owners. Neo Fusion pieces tell unique stories, defined by the journeys of those who wore them before.
This collection goes beyond the confines of traditional occupational categories, championing inclusivity. Unbound by fleeting trends, Neo Fusion focuses on a timeless aesthetic with a touch of creative wear. Designed to be gender-fluid, it resonates with a diverse range of individuals.
More than just an aesthetic marvel, Neo Fusion represents a significant stride toward a more sustainable fashion industry, addressing the pressing issue of waste. This collection stands as a testament to our commitment to a future where fashion and sustainability coexist.

HOW IT ALL BEGAN
This project was initially inspired by the saying “starting from scratch”, because that’s the wrong way of thinking about it. What we should’ve been doing is starting with what we have. Starting from scratch means starting all the way from the crop harvested to create the material that later becomes the garment in your wardrobe.
What happens when we wake up and we’ve wasted so much that there’s no resources left to “start from scratch”? This project intends to show how much you can do with what you already have, and using your creativity to make something completely new, with a different narrative.
To fully understand this problem, I challenged myself by acting as if I had no resources other than what was already in my closet. The first thing I did was I ripped open the lining of a tailoring jacket, and I put it inside out. Inside, there were layers of stitching, done completely by hand. The way I designed it, the jacket maintained it’s functionality while also showing the heart of the craft.
The world wastes approximately 92 million tons of textile waste every year. Through projects like this one, designers could turn around the fate of the world just by upcycling and using their full creativity and existing resources.

FURTHER RESEARCH
This is part of my research, notes and drawings of the Neo-Fusion collection. I love this part of the process, it’s where I feel the most free and the most creative. I enjoy my creative time and experimenting with no expectations and no boundaries, just like a kid. I find it exciting to build the narrative through visuals and show you how I built this collection through storytelling.
The color palette is inspired by nature, most of the colors are muted using a gray tone that creates a faded look without changing original hue. This is a reflection of how time can also impact the colors we see and how we experience them in the present.
The fabrications are used in a fresh new way, illustrating the product they represented in the past. Even though they served a different function in its past their relationship and functionlaity has now changed and will form a new connection in this collection. The materials are all being reused from existing clothes.

DEVELOPMENT
DEVELOPMENT OF THE NEO-CLOG
In these next pages, I have decided to showcase the developmental process of a few garments. Through technology my exprience as a designer has improved for the better and I feel more connected with the things that I create. Technology gives me a new wave of energy that I’m open to. The software I used to model this shoe was Blender.
